FAQs
Breathwork is a self-healing practice that uses intentional breathing patterns to shift your physical, emotional, and energetic state. By changing the way you breathe, you can quiet the mind, reconnect with your body, and create space for release, clarity, and transformation.
1
What is breathwork?
Somatic healing is a body-based approach to healing. Instead of trying to think your way through challenges, it works with the body to release stored stress, tension, and emotions.
Because so much of what we experience is held in the body, real, lasting change happens when we include the body in the process.

What is nervous system regulation?
3
Nervous system regulation is the process of helping your body return to a state of safety and balance.
When your nervous system is regulated, you feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to handle stress. Breathwork is one of the most effective tools for this because it directly communicates with your nervous system.
How does breathwork help with stress and anxiety?
4
Breathwork helps calm the nervous system by slowing the heart rate, reducing tension, and signaling safety to the body.
This can help you move out of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm and into a more relaxed, grounded state.
What happens during a breathwork session?
5
A session typically includes:
A short introduction and intention setting
Guided breathing to music
A period of rest and integration
Optional reflection or sharing
Each session is different, but most people leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more connected to themselves.
Do I need experience to try breathwork?
6
Not at all.
Breathwork is beginner-friendly, and you’ll be guided every step of the way. Whether it’s your first session or you’ve practiced before, you’re invited to come exactly as you are.
What might I feel during a breathwork session?
7
Every experience is different, but you may notice:
Physical sensations (tingling, warmth, energy moving)
Emotional release
A sense of calm or clarity
Deep relaxation
There’s no right or wrong experience, your body leads the way.
How does breathwork release trauma and stored emotions?
8
Breathwork works with the body, where trauma and unprocessed emotions are often stored.
By using intentional breathing, you begin to move energy through the body, creating space for emotions, tension, and past experiences to surface and release.
This doesn’t come from forcing anything, it happens naturally as the body feels safe enough to let go.
Each session meets you where you are, and your body will only guide you as deep as you’re ready to go.
How often should I practice breathwork?
9
Breathwork is most powerful when practiced consistently, but what that looks like can vary depending on your goals and intentions.
Short, gentle practices can be done daily to help regulate your nervous system, stay connected to your body, and maintain a sense of balance.
Deeper, more transformational sessions—like 1:1 sessions or group workshops—can be done weekly, biweekly, or monthly to support deeper release, clarity, and long-term change.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Your practice can evolve with you, and your body will guide what feels right.
Are there any contraindications for breathwork?
Breathwork is generally safe for most people, but there are certain conditions where extra care is needed.
If you have any of the following, it’s recommended that you consult with your doctor before participating in a breathwork session:
Cardiovascular conditions (including high blood pressure, heart disease, or history of heart attack)
Respiratory conditions such as severe asthma
Epilepsy or history of seizures
Pregnancy
Glaucoma or retinal detachment
Recent surgery or physical injury
Severe mental health conditions (such as psychosis or schizophrenia)
Use of heavy medications that affect brain chemistry
Having one of these conditions does not necessarily mean you can’t practice breathwork. It simply means we may need to adjust the approach or ensure it’s safe for you to participate.
If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out or speak with your healthcare provider before booking.
Your safety and comfort always come first. You’re encouraged to move at your own pace and listen to your body throughout the experience.
